SRM University has reported a record number of placements for the 2014-2015 batch.
A press release from the university says Cognizant, Infosys and Wipro had together offered a total of 3,689 jobs for the batch. While Cognizant made 1,502 job offers, Infosys offered 1,105 and Wipro, 1,082. All these placements were offered on Day 1 of campus recruitment drive, the release adds. The salary package offered by them was upwards of ₹3 lakh.
On the following day, A Computer Science final year student landed a job from Works Applications Co, a Japan-based ERP system manufacturer, which offered him the highest annual package of 5 million Japanese Yen (approximately ₹33 lakh).
“Students from ECE, CSE and IT branches were the most sought after candidates by these IT firms,” the release said quoting S. Ganapthy, Dean (Placement).
According to the release, other companies that participated in the recruitment drive this year included Amazon, Musigma, Hitachi Consulting, Code Brahma, S&P Capital IQ, Unisys, Schneider Electric, I-Gate, Capgemini, TCS and CaterPillar.
