Seventy per cent work on Detailed Project Report on the Thiruvananthapuram—Kasargod High Speed Rail Corridor project has been completed, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Principal Adviser E Sreedharan today said.

It would be submitted to the government before October, said Sreedharan who was here to participate in a seminar on monorail organised by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce and Kannur Press Club.

The project, when materialises, would change the ‘face of Kerala’ completely, Sreedharan said.

The field survey work on the high speed rail corridor project is going on.

The technical expertise of Japan and South Korea are under consideration. If Japanese technology was accepted, they will give 80 per cent of the project’s estimated expense as loan, Sreedharan said.

The estimated expense for the project was Rs one lakh crore, he added.
