Teachers should accord importance to research activities, said HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University. Inaugurating a research workshop conducted by the Dr TMA Pai Endowment Chair in Manipal recently, he said: “Research creates new knowledge, while classroom teaching mainly transfers existing knowledge.” A press statement said here that 50 participants, including 35 from various institutions of Manipal University, took part in the workshop.
