Inducting three senior Congress leaders including two former ministers, Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday advised N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and Pavan Kalyan, Tollywood star, both planning to float new parties, to support TDP.

New parties would cause harm to the interests of the Seemandhra region, he said and suggested that they should reconsider the move to form new parties and instead strengthen the TDP.

Speaking after welcoming two Cabinet members of the Kiran Kumar Reddy, industrialist and minor irrigation minister TG Venkatesh and law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy, and Shilpa Mohn Reddy, in the presence of senior leaders KE Krishnamurthy and CM Ramesh, he wanted to know what they sought to achieve by forming new parties and securing some seats as this would not eventually serve the interest of people from the region.

He said the election in the Seemandhra region is likely to be one sided affair and the TDP would secure a majority.

How can Kiran Kumar Reddy achieve anything now what he could not do so as a Chief Minister? He was at the helm of affairs and the Congress divided the State. What does he expects to achieve now, but creating employment for himself and a few MLAs, he said.

By extending their support to the TDP, they would be able to further strengthen the party and ensure better development of the State.

He also cautioned the people against casting their votes to such new parties as they would not be able to help their cause and facilitate development of the region/State.
