Tata AIG General Insurance plans to focus on individual health products rather than group insurance. The company has sought the Insurance Regulatory Authority’s nod for two to three health products to cater to specific illness such as cancer, its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer KK Mishra told presspersons here.
In Tamil Nadu, Tata AIG has established its presence in 20 cities. “The Coimbatore branch has grown in terms of business and manpower. Our business here has grown from ₹8 crore in 2009-10 to ₹37 crore in 2013-14. We are targeting ₹50 crore of business this fiscal,” he said.
To a query on the sale of policies online, he said this amounts to roughly around four per cent of the company’s total business volume at present. “We want to grow it to 10 per cent.”
