Zensar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of IT firm Zensar, today announced the launch of a National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Centre in Pune in partnership with the Pune Municipal Corporation and Nasscom Foundation.
“This initiative reinforces our support to the Prime Minister’s mission of a digitally literate India, which is aimed at empowering at least one person per household with digital literacy by 2020,” Zensar Technologies CEO and Vice Chairman and Nasscom Foundation Chairman Ganesh Natarajan said.
NASSCOM Foundation has pledged support to the NDLM and is working closely with the Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY) to train an initial pool of one million digitally literate Indians.
Zensar Foundation’s first NDLM centre opened in Hyderabad in August 2014.
The NDLM envisions empowerment of at least one person per household with digital literacy skills by 2020.
