Adani Enterprises on Tuesday inaugurated a 100 megawatt solar power plant, set up with an investment of Rs 640 crore by Adani's arm, Adani Green Energy Ltd, at Sardargarh & Chughe Kalan, Bhatinda in Punjab.
The plant, India's biggest Horizontal Single Axis Tracker (HSAT) plant at a single location, was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday.
The plant spreads over approximately 641 acres of land with the evacuation of 132 kV at the Balluana Substation through a double circuit 132 KV transmission line. The annual energy yield is expected to be 88,000 Mwh/ annum.
The technology used for setting up this plant includes Poly Crystalline Silicon PV Modules and HSAT.
The plant was commissioned about six months ahead of schedule and provides direct and indirect employment to 300-400 people.
Apart from the 100 MW solar power plant in Bhatinda, the company also has a 40 MW solar plant in Bitta, Gujarat. It recently unveiled a 648 MW solar power project at Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu, which is the world's largest solar power plant in a single location.
The company has also signed a joint venture with the Rajasthan government to develop the country's largest solar park of 10,000 MW capacity.
