The Kochi-based Alapatt Super Shoppe, a leading household and electrical appliances retailers, has ventured into e-commerce by launching a fully-secured online shopping portal, www.alapattsupershoppe.com .
Initially, the e-commerce services will be available in Kerala with free home delivery available in six districts including Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram for large appliances. Soon, the company will be spreading its model across the State and in phases, into other south Indian states as well, N. Ravanan, CEO, Alapatt Global told reporters here.
In the e-commerce portal, the company will offer all payment options, including online banking, credit card and debit card payments, cash on delivery. Delivery of above 5 kg consignments will be totally free.
“To begin with, we have more than 2000 products from leading brands in the online store and a 50-member back-office support team with a chain of delivery men and vehicles”, he said.
Presently, the e-commerce portal will be accessible across desktops, laptops and mobile devices while in a week’s time, an app will also be launched to ease the shopping process. EMI options will be offered within a month’s time, he added.
Alappat Group – a leading gold & diamond retailer – has already into online online diamond jewellery sales, and has received encouraging customer response. In the e-commerce business, the company is looking at 1000 sales per day in the initial phase, he said.
