AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said Amaravati farmers, who offered their land under the pooling scheme for the development of the new capital, should emerge as entrepreneurs.
Seeing off the first batch of 34 farmers headed to Singapore at the Secretariat on Monday, he said that in the city-state, the farmers should learn the best practices. He said that the AP government had been fulfilling all the promises made to the farmers and looking after their livelihood, pension, health, education of children and skill development programmes.
He said the State Government will give them all help in the process of becoming entrepreneurs.
The State Government has selected 124 farmers to visit Singapore. On Monday, the first batch of 34 farmers, including three women, headed out for Singapore for four days.
