As part of extension of eco tourism activities in the Amrabad Tiger Reserve on way to Srisailam, one more tourist spot, 'Octopus View Point' was open to public from October 13.
The view of back water of the river Krishna from the vantage point looks like Octopus.
Located about 5 km before Domalpenta, 42 km from Mannanur on Hyderabad Srisailam highway, this view point provides a picturesque view of the river Krishna and adjoining forests having deep gorges and valleys.
Field Director of Amrabad Tiger Reserve M C Pargaien along with forest field staff inaugurated the spot on Friday.
He informed that the strategic location of this point is bound to attract more visitors and nature lovers. However, he requested them to take care of cleanliness and serenity of adjoining forests.
Visitors benches, Pagoda and earmarked parking place have been provided for the tourists.
In addition, a watch tower and a forest trail are also under development to enhance recreational opportunities for public.
It is said that this was once a spot where the Nizam of Hyderabad would visit during summer time. It is habited by a number of animals and provides a visual treat amidst dense green forests, with the Krishna water meandering.
