Andhra Pradesh is targeting to become a hub for electronics manufacturing in the country.
"The country consumes about $480 billion worth electronics annually. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu targets to make Andhra Pradesh produce at least half of the $480 billion," Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh, has said.
He said the State would house the whole ecosystem of electronics manufacturing ranging from component production to gadget manufacturing and to e-waste management.
He was addressing a press conference here on Monday after signing an agreement with Holitech Technology of China, which is setting up a $200-million phone component manufacturing facility at Tirupati.
