The Andhra Pradesh Cloud initiative was formally launched here on Friday by State IT Minister P Raghunadha Reddy and two other ministers - Ayyanna Patrudu and K Mrinalini - at Andhra University engineering college.

According to the IT minister, the project, being implemented with the help of Miracle Software Technologies and other IT companies, is intended “to create a large pool of IT professionals well versed in digital technologies and 50 engineering colleges in the State will be included in it. It will span 18 months and a lakh professionals will be imparted training’’.

He said there was no dearth of jobs for the trained skilled professionals and the initiative of the IT fraternity of the Digital Valley of India powered by Miracle Software Solutions was “the first step in the direction of making Andhra Pradesh the intellectual repository for all emerging technologies’’.

He advised students from 25 colleges from across the state who gathered not to be content with learning from the curriculum but focus on building character. He asked them to be socially relevant and take time out to participate in socially responsible activities like tree plantation.

Miracle Software chairman Prasad Lokam said the project would enable AP to compete with other states in the IT sector.

Principal, AU College of Engineering (Autonomous), PS Avadhani, director of Miracle Software Solutions Madhavi Lokam, representatives of IT fraternity from the Digital Valley, and students from engineering colleges across the state were present.
