The State Government is leveraging technology to improve public health and to take health and medical services even to remote areas, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said.

The Chief Minister inaugurated AMRIT (AP Medical Tourism Hub) as part of the ongoing Andhra Pradesh Health Festival at Rushikonda here on Thursday.

On the occasion he spoke about the various initiatives taken by his government in the health care sector. The AP health care system would be strengthened with financial assistance from the World Bank. The ANM Centres, which were below the level of the Primary Health Centres (PHC s), would be strengthened with two doctors and two ANMs at each centre.

On the five new initiatives launched by the government, he said that the e-Sub Centres would enable patients in remote areas to consult doctors at the e-Sub Centre hubs in Visakhapatnam and other cities. The ANM at the centre would register the name of the patient, his/her problem on the Tab and send it electronically to the hub. The doctor would analyse the condition of the patient and prescribe medicines.

The drugs would be delivered by the vending machine at the e-Sub Centre.

The Mukhyamantri Bal Suraksha Yojna, meant for children in the 0 to 18 year age group, would offer screening and referral services to over 80 lakh children, through 450 mobile health teams, in all the 13 districts of the State. The Chief Minister also launched a RFID and a dialysis centre at Kuppam through remote control.

Mr. Naidu spoke of his vision to adopt the best healthcare practices being followed in the world.

Special Chief Secretary (Health, Medical and Family Welfare) Poonam Malakondaiah and Ayushman Bharat CEO Indu Bhushan signed the Ayushman Bharat M o U in the presence of the Chief Minister.
