The Andhra Pradesh government is offering very attractive incentives to woo IT park developers as well as IT/ITeS companies to the State, with the objective of generating one lakh jobs in the sector by 2019, according to State IT Minister N Lokesh.

He was speaking at Gannavaram near here after laying the foundation stone for the second phase of the IT park on Thursday. He said the first phase had been completed and IT companies had started functioning there.

“In the phase two, we are creating more than 4 lakh sq ft office space, and 4,000 new jobs will be created. I request L&T to complete it within six months. It is our job to attract the IT companies,” he said.

He said AP was guaranteeing 50 per cent rental income to the developers of IT parks, and “we are sparing no effort to get the companies. Similarly, in the electronics sector, we will generate 2 lakh new jobs in the State by 2019. It is no doubt a daunting task, but by no means impossible.”

He said the IT park at Gannavaram at peak capacity would generate 30,000 direct jobs.
