As much as 435 MW of wind-power capacity was installed in Andhra Pradesh in April-September 2016.
The State accounted for a third of the 1,305 MW installed across the country in the period, according to data from the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
“We are confident of reaching 4 GW this financial year,” said DV Giri, Secretary-General, IWTMA.
He observed that the installations in the first half of the year is typically lower than the second.
Caution The Secretary-General, however, cautioned that the proposed reduction in accelerated depreciation, from 80 to 40 per cent, and the discontinuance of the ‘generation-based incentive’ from April 2017, “will have some negative impact on investors post 2017”.
