The Andhra Pradesh government is exerting maximum pressure on the Union Government for a railway zone with its headquarters based at Visakhapatnam and “we are confident that the promise will be fulfilled’, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y Sujana Chowdhary has said.
He was talking to reporters here on Thursday. He said a technical committee set up by the Railway Board had found the zone proposal unviable, “but still we are trying our best. We are confident that it will be set up here.”
The minister, a leader of the Telugu Desam Party, said the Chief Minister was exerting pressure on the issue on the Centre.
