The need for a strong global branding for marketing ayurveda worldwide in an aggressive way was stressed by speakers at an ayurveda marketing conclave organised here on Tuesday by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation.
Speakers pointed out that ayurveda was now getting the attention of the world as holistic system of medicine and that the demand for ayurvedic doctors was rising. However, in order to capitalise on this, the ayurvedic drug makers, physicians and the medical colleges need to do extensive homework and put in efforts to meet the scientific scrutiny of the Western world.
KSIDC Chairman TKA Nair, who opened the event, urged the ayurvedic industry to conduct clinical trials and prepare evidence-based documents that would satisfy the requirements of modern medicine before exploring the American and European markets.
