Bigbasket - the online supermarket - entered Visakhapatnam on Thursday, with Telugu actress Praneeta inaugurating it. Bigbasket.com offers one-stop online shopping for quality products and fresh products at competitive prices, according to Pallavi Palkar, the head of marketing.
She said the company had already entered Vijayawada and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam was the third centre in the State.
"We will take our company to many more cities in AP and the country. We have a catalogue of over 18,000 products including fresh fruits and vegetables, grocery and staples, meats, personal care, home and kitchen products and several others," she said, adding that Vizag was the seventeenth city covered by the company and the number would rise to 35 by March. The company, with a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore, was aiming at Rs 6,000 crore by 2018.
The company was set up by a team of five in Bengaluru in 2011 and it later expanded to several cities.
