BioAsia, the annual flagship event of the Telangana government, will be hosted at HICC here during February 6-8.
The 2017 edition will have a Buyer Seller Meet wherein a number of international buyers are expected to participate.
The three-day event will be inaugurated by Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan.
The event is likely to bring together 1,500 delegates from over 50 countries, with over 100 speakers and 800 corporates participating.
Shakthi Nagappan, CEO, BioAsia, in a statement said, “With a number of developments globally on cost containment of drugs and discussions around pricing policies, the deliberations at BioAsia will be centred around doing more with less on new drug development and disrupting healthcare overall.”
During the inaugural ceremony, the Governor would present the Genome Valley Excellence Award to Nobel Laureate Prof Kurt Wuthrichand and Dr. Paul Stoffels, Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals and Chief Scientific Officer of Johnson & Johnson, for their contribution in the field of life sciences and healthcare.
The international partners of the 14th edition of the event are the state of Illinois, US, and the state of Selangor, Malaysia, with Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh being the Indian partner states.
About 100 exhibitors will provide a VR experience (virtual reality) of the upcoming Pharma City in Hyderabad during the event.
The Startup Showcase for healthcare will feature solutions from 50 start-ups.
The event agenda will touch upon many areas ranging from innovation and R&D, manufacturing, digital healthcare, diagnostics and hospital infections to anti-microbial resistance.
