BioAsia 2015 today organised final selections of BioAsia Healthcare Devthon at Apollo Hospitals.
This is a first of its kind event in the healthcare sector, where engineers and designers develop prototypes to address key healthcare challenges, a statement from the organisers said.
The Healthcare Devthon is an initiative by BioAsia in partnership with Government of Telangana, Apollo Hospitals, Kamineni Life Sciences, LV Prasad Eye Institute and BITS Pilani.
The idea prototyping event was conducted over the last three weeks. At the end of the prototyping session, the teams presented their ideas to jury who reviewed and selected top six ideas. These prototypes will be showcased at BioAsia 2015 slated from February 2.
The top prototypes will be mentored and given an opportunity to build real products with a seed fund grant up to Rs 2 lakh.
The Healthcare Devthon witnessed more than 50 participants who worked on over 20 ideas. These participants visited Apollo Hospitals and Kamineni Life Science to gather insights into their functioning and interacted with doctors and clinical experts.
Later they spent 30 hours developing solutions to healthcare challenges they identified.
