The BITS-75 Charitable Trust (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani class of 1975) has mentored and provided seed funding to three start-ups from BITS — Phyzok, Sattva Medtech and Mudra Annie.
BITS-75 Trust provided ventures with a grant of ₹10 lakh each, along with mentorship guidance from a strong team of alumni, and also project management help.
The first venture Phyzok Learning Solutions has won several national and international awards.
The next venture was Sattva Meditech, which has developed cutting-edge and yet inexpensive, easy to use, non-invasive, diagnostic equipment to monitor neonatal heartbeat from the 26th week of pregnancy.
This will help reduce India’s neonatal mortality rate. The project has made substantial progress and prototype development work is complete.
The third venture is a technology assisted device to teach Braille to the visually impaired. The device has embedded software, speech synthesis and recognition and active Braille cell display.
The Trust recently organised the Gurudakshina programme to honour 10 teachers.
