The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested BJD MLA, Pravat Tripathy in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam in Odisha.
Tripathy, MLA from Banki in Odisha, was arrested from his home state.
Confirming the arrest, a CBI spokesperson said, Tripathy has been charged with “criminal conspiracy”; and allegations of receiving “huge sum from the Artha Tatwa Group”.
Earlier, the central agency had arrested the former Advocate General of Odisha, Ashok Mohanty and a Mumbai-based model for their alleged involvement in the scam.
