The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Regional Officer of Central Board of Film Certification in Hyderabad and a mediator for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a producer.
The CBI registered a case after receiving a complaint that the officer demanded a bribe of Rs one lakh for issuing a U-certificate instead of A-certificate for a Telugu movie.
"The sleuths laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 as first instalment through a mediator. The accused officer belongs to Central Secretariat Service and is presently on deputation to Central Board of Film Certification in Hyderabad," a CBI release said here on Saturday.
