The Union Ministry of Power has sanctioned ₹100 crore to establish Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system in four towns of Vizag, Vijayawada, Guntur and Nellore to facilitate centralised data collection.
Such a system enables to improve system stability, easy accessibility to each and every consumer, instantaneous collection of parameters like voltage and current.
According to a statement, this is part of a Central Government programme to strengthen the power sector by taking up of IT initiatives in urban areas and for enhancing customer services.
