The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued show-cause notices to Apollo Group of Hospitals, Care Hospitals and three other corporate hospitals in Hyderabad for denying credit facility for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries.
The other hospitals that were issued notices are Medwin, KIMS and Yashoda Group Hospitals.
“These empanelled under CGHS decided unilaterally to discontinue credit facility to the eligible categories of CGHS beneficiaries. We will ensure that the CGHS empanelled private hospitals continue to extend cashless and credit facilities to the eligible beneficiaries,” a Press Information Bureau release said.
As many as 24 out of 407 private hospitals empanelled under CGHS decided unilaterally to discontinue credit facility. “Show-cause notices stand issued to these hospitals and empanelment of five hospitals has been suspended for a period of six months or till further orders,” it said.
