An empowered committee headed by the State Chief Secretary will be constituted to examine the documents pertaining to the tenders for the development of road infrastructure.
The decision in this regard was taken at the meeting of Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC) chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh at his official residence yesterday, an official statement said here today.
The State Government has made a provision of Rs 5,183 crore in the 2015-16 budget for the development of road infrastructure, which is 43 per cent higher than the previous year.
Under the infrastructure development projects, priority will be given to upgrade the State highways into double lane. Moreover, focus will also be given on upgrading the roads connecting district headquarters to block headquarters into a double lane, it added.
As per the budget announcement, in the next three years, CGRDC will upgrade the toll roads through public private partnership (PPP) and 2,000 km long roads through annuity model, the statement said.
Besides, the action plan for the proposed road construction was also discussed at the meeting, it added.
Public Works Department Minister Rajesh Munat, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
