Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, currently on a visit to Korea, visited the ancillary units of Kia Motors and assured them of the State government’s support to their ventures.
The Korean automotive company Kia Motors is in the process of beginning works on its greenfield plant in Andhra Pradesh, where it plans to invest over $1.1 billion.
Investment plans Various ancillary units of Kia Motors have confirmed their plans to invest about ₹4,995.2 crore with potential to generate 7,171 jobs, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office. During his interaction, Naidu explained the progress of the land-levelling done on the site allotted to Kia Motors.
The Chief Minister later met with representatives of some of the leading companies, including INZI Controls, Hanon Systems, Hwaseung R&A Co Ltd, Hyundai Dymos Inc., Hyundai Mobis Co Ltd Hyundai Steel and Hyundai Glovis Co Ltd.
Naidu said, “India’s Look Easy Policy will bear fruit from our State. The purpose of the meeting was to assure the investors that they will get all necessary support in setting up units in the State.”
Strategic location He said the site in Anantapur is strategically located due to its proximity to Bangalore airport as well as Krishnapatnam Port. Naidu invited them to invest and set up a South Korean City, by making AP their second home.
Later, Naidu met with top executives of Posco Daewoo Corporation and Hyosung Corporation and invited them to explore opportunities in the areas of petroleum sector.
A group of 37 industries have signed Letters of Intent, to invest around ₹3,000 crore, he said.
