Chennai Metro sees highest ridership in April 2019, ever since its commencement in 2015.
It had as many as 1.02 lakh users on April 26 and around 92,917 people on May 6, and 95,119 on May 10, 2019.
Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) commenced its train operations from June 29, 2015. Till May 14, 2019 a total of 3.81 crore people used the metro, said CMRL press release.
To increase patronage, CMRL has provided spacious parking facilities in key stations, including St Thomas Mount, Alandur and Chennai Moffusil Bus Terminus. Last mile connectivity measures like share auto, share taxi services also helped in the metro patronage, the release said.
