The second partnership summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Friday and Saturday is expected to be a huge success, with the likely participation of 2,500 to 3,000 delegates from different countries, and the State government is confident of signing a large number of MoUs with different companies, according to G Srinivasa Rao, State HRD Minister.

He said here on Monday that “there is overwhelming response to the summit and we are expecting MoUs for investments proposals worth more than ₹8 lakh crore to be signed this year as against ₹4.67 lakh crore last year.” He said the district administration was making all arrangements to make the summit a success at the Harbour Park.

The achievements of Andhra Pradesh would be showcased at the summit and investors from across the globe would be wooed. Srinivasa Rao said the State government was pursuing all the proposals and making earnest efforts to realise all the MoUs. He said there was no truth in the allegation that the State government was doing little to ground the projects, while creating huge hype.

CII-AP chairman and CEO of Maple Software GS Shiv Kumar said the theme of the summit would be partnering for sustained growth in an emerging global economic order. He said AP, with two proposed industrial corridors passing through it (Vizag-Chennai corridor and Chennai-Bengaluru corridor), stood a great chance of attracting investment in different sectors. He said there was a need to promote the new Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation and the State government and the CII were working in tandem to get the projects going.
