Noted Kannada actor V Ravichandran, will promote the government’s social security schemes that are offered by the Dharward-headquartered Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank (KVGB).

Launching the publicity campaign in this regard in Dharward on Monday, Ashok Reddy, Chairman of KVGB, said the bank had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Su-vision Holdings Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Bengaluru-based Indiamoney.com, for the service.

A missed call to a dedicated number (08655019935) will elicit a return call with Ravichandran giving information on Atal Pension Yojana and the bank’s Janashakti loan scheme.

The bank decided to rope in Ravichandran to reach the common man on social security schemes such as Prime Minister’s Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Bima Suraksha Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and the bank’s Janashakti scheme, he said.

This initiative will help educate and engage over two million customers through a technology-driven platform.

In the initial phase, Atal Pension Yojana and the bank’s Janshakti loan scheme will be promoted. There are plans to educate customers on a range of financial products in the days ahead, he said.

A press release from the bank said here that KVGB occupies the second position in Karnataka in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Canara Bank is occupying the first place in the implementation of both schemes in Karnataka, it said. KVGB has canvassed around 11.6 lakh accounts for these schemes till date, the release added.
