i3 Expo, a national level exhibition organised by the PSG Tech Alumni Association, is scheduled to be held between September 27 and 29 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore.
Presented by PSG Institutions as a concurrent event of GRD Centenary Year Celebrations, this expo – i3 on Ideas, Inventions and Innovations is expected to provide an avenue for individuals and the unorganised sector to showcase their talent to the outside world.
The organisers are inviting institutions and individuals in possession of an idea, innovation or invention in the form of drawing, sketches, narration, miniature or working models, tools and so on from across the country to take part in this fair.
“Several brilliant ideas and utilisation of novel techniques in the field of agriculture, manufacturing, construction and so on remain unnoticed as there is lack of avenue for showcasing such talents. We are planning to identify and pool such unique thought processes and bring them to a single platform through this i3 Expo. We also intend to help them commercialise the process,” said the Chairman of the expo, A.V. Varadharajan.
The last date for receipt of registration forms is September 14.
Further, to motivate and encourage participants, PSG Institutions is planning to give the GRD i3 cash awards to the best three exhibits and to ten exhibits on merit basis.
“While the merit awards would carry a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each, the best of the three exhibits would get Rs 1 lakh, followed by Rs 75,000for the next best and Rs 50,000 for the exhibit in the third position,” said the Trustee of PSG Institutions Gopalakrishnan.
“We have sent over 2,000 mailers so far. We are still on the job, reaching out to many more. We are hoping to provide space for 500 stall/ exhibits,” said Varadharajan.
PSG Arts Alumni Association, PSG Management Alumni Association and PSGIMSR Alumni Association are co-organisers to the event.
PSG Institutions has estimated the outlay at Rs 1 crore.
