West Bengal Pradesh Congress President Pradip Bhattacharya on Saturday said the Trinamool Congress-led State Government is “completely directionless” and has failed to attract adequate investments in the last two years.
The senior Congress leader also criticised the current government for failing to come up with an industrial policy, despite completing two years in power. According to Bhattacharya, nearly one crore people in the State are unemployed.
Addressing a press conference here, Bhattacharya said even though Mamata Banerjee’s Government is claiming to have received investment proposals worth Rs 1.2 lakh crore, in 2011-12 the total investment “figure stood at a mere Rs 1,200 crore”.
“The State Government is only conducting fairs. The money spent for the fairs is also coming from the Centre,” he said.
Bhattacharya pointed out that Banerjee’s Government has been claiming various Union Government’s projects and schemes as its own.
