The BJP is ‘desperately’ trying to shift the argument away from facts, Congress performance and the quality of life in Karnataka, to fear, according to the State unit of the Congress. G Parameshwara, President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), on Tuesday accused the BJP of inciting fear and polarising the society ahead of Assembly polls.
The BJP’s only strategy to win in Karnataka is through fear tactics, as seen in the coastal districts of the State, said Parameshwara. “Lies and rumours are their tools, and they are using social media platforms to spread communal hatred against communities and mobilise people to participate in communal violence,” he added.
He accused the BJP of indulging in petty politics and assuming that Hindutva was their sole property.
“I do not know whether there is anything called soft or hard Hindutva. What the Congress practises is ‘inclusive Hindutva’, or taking all sections of the people together. The essence of the Hindutva we practice is not to differentiate from one another,” he added.
