For the fourth consecutive day, the number of Coronavirus positive cases in Tamil Nadu was above 1,000 with the virus infecting 1,286 persons, including 42 from other States/countries.
The total number of positive cases in the State is now 25,872. After 610 Covid-19 patients were discharged today, the total number of persons recovered was 14,316. This leaves the number of active cases at 11,345.
In Chennai alone, 1,012 cases were reported on Wednesday taking the total to 17,598.
Eleven more succumbed to the disease today taking the toll to 208, says government data.
