In a first-of-its kind meeting between India and China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold an informal summit in China’s Wuhan city over two days, starting today. They will discuss bilateral and international matters and seek to enhance mutual communication.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in a historic summit today at Panmunjom, the border village, in South Korea. The meeting will be only the third of its kind, and will be followed by landmark talks with US President Donald Trump which could come as early as May. The venue will make Kim the first North Korean leader to set foot in the South since the end of the Korean War.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will release the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls in Mangaluru. In the run-up to the high-stakes polls, Gandhi had asked the Congress leaders to prepare a “people’s manifesto”, after taking the feedback of all the stakeholders. The election to the 224-member Assembly will be held on May 12 and the result will be announced on May 15.

A Supreme Court Bench comprising justices AK Sikri and Ashok Bhushan will hear former law minister Shanti Bhushan's PIL on the existing roster practice of allocation of cases by the CJI. On April 12, a day after the Supreme Court ruled that allocation of cases is CJI's prerogative, Justice Chelameswar refused to list Shanti Bhushan's plea saying he did not want his order to be reversed again in 24 hours.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi will hold its annual plenary at Kompally, near Hyderabad, today. It is expected that party President K Chandrashekhar Rao will announce his plans for entering national politics and the formation of a federal front.
