The Securities Appellate Tribunal will hear Sahara Life’s petition against IRDAI's order to sell its business to ICICI Prudential Life. The insurance regulator had on July 28 asked private sector life insurer ICICI Prudential Life to take over the business of beleaguered Sahara Life on or before August 21.

Skoda will drive its Kodiaq SUV into India today. The vehicle had a global premiere in Berlin last year. In India, it will compete with the likes of the Ford Endeavor, the Isuzu-MU-X. Skoda's Strategy 2025 has identified SUVs as a key growth segment. The Czech carmaker will also launch the new Octavia, likely to be priced in the Rs 20 lakh range.

Gionee will launch its mid-range smartphone 'A1 Lite'. The handset is a new addition to Gionee 'A' series, after the A1 and A1 Plus phones. The smartphone was introduced in Nepal a couple of months ago.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone for works pertaining to the rejuvenation of Sriramsagar Project. The project is being taken up as part of modernisation of the largest irrigation sources to Telangana till date, at Pochampad in Nizamabad district.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will begin a tour of the districts of the State, starting from Gorakhpur, to gauge the impact of his government's schemes. The review will cover law and order, health, cleanliness and electricity.
