State-run gas company GAIL and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will jointly form a new firm which will supply piped natural gas in the city and surrounding areas.
Both the companies will sign and exchange the share agreement tomorrow, Manish Bhardwaj, Vadodara Municipal Commissioner said today.
The pact will be signed in the presence of Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel.
“The proposed company aims at providing gas to the city and surrounding areas for domestic, non-domestic and industrial purposes,” Bhardwaj said.
The firm is expected to initially provide over 85,000 gas connections in the city.
