Junior Chamber International should contribute to the advancement of global community by providing ample opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam has said.

The skills include social responsibility, entrepreneurship and a performed feeling of fellowship. This would help them produce scores of social and business leaders all over the country, he said.

GEM 2015 The Governor inaugurated the International Business Conference and Global Entrepreneurship Meet (GEM 2015) organised by JCI the other day.

Praising JCI in organising such a mega event, he said the active presence and participation of vast number of achievers would go a long way to inspire and initiate the young entrepreneurs to march ahead.

The one-day meet discussed the entrepreneurship ecosystem existing in the country with brainstorming sessions on personal, financial, business, professional, economic and environmental enablers. It also focused on topics such as new trends in sales and marketing, scaling up strategies, employee retention and engagement initiatives.

There was also a session showcasing iconic entrepreneurs sharing their success stories.

The Australian motivational speaker and management trainer Natalie Viselli was the keynote speaker. The conference was chaired by the JCI Zone Director Business Saji Chameli.

Ernakulam District Collector MG Rajamaikyam was the special guest. JCI Leaders Shine Bhaskaran (2014 World president), Zone President Sudhin Ashok also spoke.

JCI is a voluntary organisation, working in India for the past 57 years for developing the leadership skills among young men and women. It is affiliated to Junior Chamber International (JCI), a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs.
