Godrej Appliances has announced the launch of a power saving green inverter air-conditioner range and outlined plans to garner a bigger slice of the country's growing AC market.
According to company executives, Godrej's new AC range makes it the country's most power saving AC and bring about a change in the way people look at ACs.
The company also unveiled its brand philosophy ‘Things made thoughtfully,’ seeking to communicate how they are making a difference to the way people think about ACs and power consumption.
Godrej Appliances plans to strengthen its position further and capture a market share of 20 per cent in the 5-star and inverter AC segment by the year 2018. Five-star ACs account for about 25 per cent of the 5 million AC market.
Kamal Nandi, Business Head and EVP, Godrej Appliances, said, “Godrej Appliances has been the fastest growing brand in the last five quarters, with a growth of about 33 per cent so far during the year as against 20 per cent in the market. In the AC business, the company has seen a growth of over 50 per cent.”
The country's low penetrated AC market is projected to grow by about 35 per cent. If current trends are any indication, Godrej has immense scope to consolidate its business and brand presence, he said.
Ram D, Zonal Business Head- Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Godrej Appliances, said, “Inverter ACs are the fastest growing segment with 100 per cent per cent year-on-year growth and 8 per cent contribution to industry sales.”
The NXW range of ACs will be available in two different cooling capacities of 1.5 T and 1 T and are priced in the range of Rs 55,000-Rs 66,000.
