Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold bars worth ₹49.15 lakh from three passengers on Thursday.
A press release from the Mangaluru Customs Commissioner M Subramanyam said here that the three passengers, who had concealed the gold bars in the rectum, had reached Mangaluru airport from Dubai in two different flights.
The release said the gold, in rectangular cut pieces weighing 1,660.75 gm, was packed in carbon paper and adhesive tapes. All the three passengers were from Ulhasnagar of Thane district in Maharashtra.
