GPS system has been installed in trucks carrying foodgrains from FCI godowns to state storage in 12 districts of Bihar to prevent spillage of grains.
Minister In-charge Food Sunil Kumar Pintu said in reply to a question of BJP’s Sanjay Sarawgi in the assembly that the 12 districts are Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, East and West Champaran, Samastipur, Saharsa, Purnea, Araria and Munger.
These GPS are being regularly monitored, he said adding that similar exercise was being carried with the help of transport department in other districts.
When the members said GPS was not functioning in any of the districts, senior minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary intervened and assured that the government would get the matter probed by a principal secretary level officer next month.
