Heavy rains have lashed several districts in Telangana, including the State capital, throwing traffic out of gear. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rains Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Mahaboobnagar and Nalgonda districts.
After a timely arrival of monsoon in June, the State witnessed a continuous dry spell of over three weeks that caused serious damage to standing crops.
