Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India today celebrated its anniversary of its first adopted Traffic Park in South India at Hyderabad taken up in association with the Hyderabad Traffic Police and administration.

Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI, in a statement said, “One year ago, when Honda decided to spread the message of safe riding in South India and adopted its first-traffic park down south, we partnered with Hyderabad Traffic Police and Administration. The high-penetration of two-wheelers in the city coupled with more and more women wanting to become independent riders, made us realize that Honda can contribute to make Hyderabad roads safer.”

“In just 1 year, Honda’s road safety instructors have educated over 7,000 Hyderabad citizens,” he said.

Honda had adopted and developed the traffic training park at Goshamahal as a mini city, recreating traffic signals to zebra crossings to speed breakers etc. for real-life riding simulation.

For Honda, road safety is a global priority since 1970. Honda is promoting road safety awareness in India right from its inception in 2001. In 15 years of operations, Honda educated over 7 lakh people of all age groups on safe riding and trained over 2.8 lakh people at its nine traffic training parks in the country.
