In keeping with the government’s Digital India initiative, the Ministry of Tourism on Friday unveiled the Incredible India Digital Calendar 2018.

The first of its kind, the calendar was launched by Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) KJ Alphons,

The digital calendar can be downloaded by android as well as iOS users and it also works as a planner. Those who have downloaded this calendar will get to see different tourist destinations from across the country every day.

Night calendar Also, it will have information about the festivals and other events.

On the other hand, the radium ink technology which is used on the wall calendar makes it visible in the dark. All the pictures on this calendar were captured post-sunset and the time of all the 12 destinations is mentioned on the calendar.

“The reason for coming up with the night calendar was that we wanted to keep up with the technology also I thought the idea was quite innovative,” said Alphons.

“The wall calendar is unique in its own way because it is for the first time we are showing India at night.

So each picture in the calendar has been taken at night,” said Rashmi Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism.

‘India for Everyone’ is the theme of the desk calendar and it focusses on the country’s incredible travel destinations.
