In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Modi-led Government on Friday made a spate of secretary-level appointments in various key ministries.
Anup Wadhawan, who is Special Secretary in Department of Commerce, will take over as the next Commerce Secretary on superannuation of Rita Teotia on July 31. Wadhawan has now been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the same Ministry.
In the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, MM Kutty, who is currently the Special Secretary, has been appointed as Officer of Special Duty. He will take over the position of Secretary on superannuation of the incumbent KD Tripathi on June 30.
Amit Khare, who is currently serving in Jharkhand cadre, will take over as the Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Ministry with the current Secretary NK Sinha set to superannuate on May 31. Atanu Chakraborty, who is currently the Director General of Hydrocarbons, has been appointed as the Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.
Heera Lal Samariya, who is currently Additional Secretary in Labour Ministry, has been elevated as Labour Secretary.
GC Murmu, currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue, has been elevated as Special Secretary in the Department of Revenue.
Binoy Kumar will take over as Secretary in the Ministry of Steel on the superannuation of the incumbent Aruna Sharma on August 31. He has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry. He will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Special Secretary, Logistics, Department of Commerce till August 31.
Pushpa Subramanyam, who is currently Special Secretary in Ministry of Textiles, will take over as Secretary of Ministry of Food Processing Industries on superannuation of JP Meena on August 31. She has now been appointed as an Officer on Special Duty in the same Ministry.
