According to the Health Ministry, a slight increase in India’s daily Covid-19 cases was seen for the second day on Thursday at 67,208 infections. The previous day, the county had reported 62,224 cases. However, the Covid cases managed to be under the 70,000-mark for the third straight day. The country’s active caseload has declined to 8,26,740, the lowest after 71 days. India’s recovery cases continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 35th straight day, and in the last 24 hours, 1,03,570 recovered cases were reported. Meanwhile, daily casualties stood at 2,330 on Thursday until 8:00 AM, taking India’s total death toll to 3,81,903.

Also, the weekly positivity rate remained below 5 per cent at 3.99 per cent, and the daily positivity rate was at 3.48 per cent, less than 5 per cent for ten consecutive days.

In addition, India conducted 19,31,249 Covid tests on Wednesday, and the cumulative tests did so far stood at 38.52 crore.

Meanwhile, the country administered 26,55,19,251 vaccine doses with 34,63,961 Covid shots in the last 24 hours till 8:00 AM. In the phase 3 vaccination drive, 4,73,43,608 beneficiaries received their first dose, and 9,69,085 beneficiaries also got their second dose.

The Health Ministry also informed Thursday that more than 27.28 crore at 27,28,31,900 vaccine doses had been provided to States/UTs through the Government’s free of cost channel and direct state procurement category this, the total consumption, including wastages, is 25,10,03,417 doses. In addition, more than 2.18 crore at 2,18,28,483 Covid shots are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
