India has recorded up to 9,68,876 Covid-19 cases by July 16 in two days days since it crossed the nine-lakh-mark on July 14. While 6,12,815 persons got cured of Covid-19, another 24,915 persons have died.
Up to 32,695 new cases were detected in the past 24 hours. Currently, there are up to 3,56,061 lakh active infections in the country. While the recovery rate has stagnated to 63 per cent over the past four days, new cases every day are on a rise, and have now crossed 30,000 cases per day.
Number of tests conducted on July 15 was over 3.26 lakh. Cumulative tests have crossed 1.27 crore.
Highest number of cases are based in Maharashtra which has 2,75,640 cases, of which 1,52,613 have recovered and 10,928 have died; followed by Tamil Nadu which has 1,51,820 cases, of which 1,02,310 have recovered and 2,167 have died, while in Delhi, there are 1,16,993 cases, of which 95,699 have recovered and 3,487 have died.
