The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country crossed 98.5 lakh with over 30,000 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
During the same period over 33,000 people recovered and 391 people died of the infection. The total number of recovered more than 93.77 lakh people recovered so far leaving 3,56,546 cases still active. The death toll from Covid-19 at present is 1,43,019 in the coiuntry.
In the last 24 hours, the total tests carried out in the country was over 10.14 lakh, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.
The Covid-19 active caseload remained below 4 lakh for the seventh consecutive day. There are 3,56,546 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprises 3.62 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, and surpassed 90 lakh on November 20.
