Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitely has said that India has a disturbed neighbourhood all over.
Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said there is a Chinese intrusion, 19 km inside the Indian territory, and the government is unable to take the country into confidence as to how it intends to deal with the issue.
Pakistan is repeatedly indulging in provocative actions. India has not forgotten beheading of its soldiers. One of Indian citizens, who is a prisoner in the Pakistani jail, is critically wounded.
“We have a disturbed neighbourhood all over. Even Maldives does not take us seriously,” he said, adding that the UPA government is presiding over the decline of India’s influence.
On the draft JPC (joint parliamentary committee) report on spectrum scam, he said a majority of JPC members are of a different view on spectrum scam and the draft covers up the scam. He alleged that the UPA indulges in corruption and then scrambles to cover up of the scams.
Stating that the coal block allocation scandal is still continuing to stare at the UPA’s face, he said the Law Minister gets access to the CBI’s probe report.
“It is quite fashionable for people to use the phrase moral policing in relation to the acts of some fringe groups. But this interference with CBI is the clear case of immoral policing by the UPA government,” he said.
