Indo American Chamber of Commerce has decided cooperate with the Centre’s targeted efforts at improving skill development.
Seeing an opportunity in linking its members with the Union Government’s Skill Development Mission, IACC will focus on the area at a two day Economic Summit in New Delhi beginning on October 15 on the theme “Convergence and Connectivity in Indo-US Economic Relations”.
Asoke K Laha, the newly appointed national President of the Chamber said: “We are especially anxious to help in the Government of India’s Skill Development Mission. IACC has members and entrepreneurs with intense exposure to both U.S. and Indian business and work ethos so that we are as a team an ideal agency to facilitate this effort”.
IACC has set up key units and core teams taken from its internal resource and network, professionals and academics of repute to plug into the Government’s mission.
“We are examining the areas of cooperation and would help coordinate with educational and skill development organizations both in the U.S. and India, to add value, training and empowerment to this highly important and critical project,” he said.
At the summit, the topics under special discussion would be education and skill development, IT and cyber security and trends in Indo-U.S. cooperation in aviation.
